Reliable Electrical Systems To Reach Full Operating Capacity

Moora Citrus Packers in Bindoon, Western Australia, boasts 6300 square meters of state-of-the-art technology which automatically performs the packing process for domestic and export markets.

The Challenge

Our client was looking to construct WA’s largest packing facility. At full capacity, the facility would be capable of processing 20,000 tonnes per year of citrus fruits.

BON was chosen as a partner to help bring this project to life. With insufficient power supply and packing equipment imported from overseas, the client needed innovative thinking and a solutions-focused perspective to power this 6,300 square meter facility.

The Solution

BON carried out an upgrade of the existing power supply taking the facility to 630 amps with redundancy backup power provisions. In addition to sufficient power supply, BON orchestrated the electrical fit out of the shed itself and the commercial office space.

After placement of the packing equipment to the main floor was undertaken, BON was engaged to undertake the electrical connection and commissioning of the system.

The Outcome

Thanks to the reliability of the electrical system in place, the new facility has been able to reach its full operating capacity. BON have since installed additional processing lines allowing the facility to further grow. The success of this facility has allowed WA growers greater access to overseas export markets, helping to grow our local agriculture industry. BON continue to service this client to the current day with their ongoing preventative and reactive maintenance needs.
